I owe film critics texts I’ve read that have steadily echoed and vibrated throughout the years: Lourcelles’ Dictionnaire du Cinéma, Rivette’s Lettre sur Rossellini, the story of Cahiers du cinéma by Antoine de Baecque, Jean Douchet’s article about Eyes Wide Shut, Fritz Lang by Lotte Eisner, Nicholas Ray by Bernard Eisenschitz, etc.
They have all helped me build my own interior museum, by both adding things and taking some away.
They taught me to ask myself the following questions: How far should one be from reality when their aim is to capture it? How can one be in tune with their audience, be their contemporary and share their understanding of the times in which we all live without necessarily giving in to the powerful and falsifying charm of fashionable trends?

These make up the foundations of my practice and my ethics as a producer.
